1. Information We Collect

1.1 Files You Upload

Short version: files are encrypted in transit and deleted after processing. Tool pages link here instead of repeating a full privacy paragraph on every converter.

When you use a PdfPeaks PDF or image tool, you may upload documents or images for processing. We treat those uploads as sensitive data. They are used solely to perform the operation you requested (for example, merging PDFs, cropping an image, or running OCR). Files are transferred over encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections and processed on secure servers in isolated temporary storage. Uploaded files and processed outputs are not permanently stored, are not used to train machine-learning models, and are never sold or shared with third parties for marketing. They are automatically deleted after processing according to our retention schedule. We do not read your documents for advertising purposes.

Calculators and in-browser utilities (for example the Zakat calculator, GPA calculator, password generator, and word counter) do not upload your inputs — that arithmetic stays in your tab.

AI Translate and AI Summarizer involve an additional processing step described in section 2 below.

1.2 Account Information

If you register for a PdfPeaks account, we collect your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. This information is used to manage your account and provide a personalised experience.

1.3 Usage Data

We may automatically collect non-personal technical information including your browser type, device type, operating system, IP address, referring URLs, and pages visited. This data is used in aggregate form to improve site performance and user experience.

1.4 Cookies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to maintain session state, remember preferences, and analyse site usage. Please refer to our Cookie Policy for full details.

2. AI Translate & Summarizer

This section applies specifically when you use our AI Translate or AI Summarizer tools.

To generate a translation or summary, PdfPeaks extracts text from your uploaded document and sends that extracted text — not the original PDF file — to a third-party AI provider (currently Anthropic) for processing. The original file remains under our standard temporary-storage handling described in section 1.1.

• Extracted text is used only to complete the Translate or Summarize job you requested.
• That text is not used to train machine-learning models under the provider’s standard API terms.
• Temporary job data (including extracted text held for processing) is automatically deleted after the job’s retention period (TTL), typically within 24 hours.
• We do not sell your document content, and we do not use it for marketing.

If you do not want extracted text sent to a third-party AI provider, do not use the AI Translate or AI Summarizer tools. All other PdfPeaks tools continue to follow the file-handling practices in section 1.1 without this AI processing step.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• To provide, operate, and maintain our tools and services
• To manage and authenticate user accounts
• To respond to enquiries submitted via our contact form
• To monitor and improve site performance, security, and usability
• To comply with applicable legal obligations

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data Retention

Uploaded and processed files for most tools are deleted immediately after each operation. For AI Translate and AI Summarizer jobs, extracted text and related temporary job data are deleted after the job’s TTL (typically within 24 hours), as described in section 2. Account information is retained for as long as your account remains active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit and appropriate server-side protections. While we take all reasonable precautions, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to operate PdfPeaks. Depending on the feature and your cookie consent choice, these may include:

• Hosting and infrastructure — to serve the website and process tool jobs securely over HTTPS.
• Google Analytics 4 — aggregate usage analytics when you accept cookies (Consent Mode).
• Google AdSense — the only advertising network used on PdfPeaks, to display ads and help keep tools free. See our Cookie Policy and Google Ads technologies.
• Google Sign-In — only if you choose to sign in with Google (account authentication).

These parties process data as needed to provide their services and under their own privacy terms where applicable. We do not sell your personal information.

When you use AI Translate or AI Summarizer, extracted document text is also processed by our AI provider as described in section 2.

7. Children's Privacy

PdfPeaks is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

8. Your Rights

9. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of PdfPeaks following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
