California Privacy Notice (CCPA / CPRA)

This notice supplements our Privacy Policy and applies to California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). It describes categories of personal information we collect, how we use them, and your rights — including the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
1. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
PdfPeaks does not sell personal information for money. We also do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in the sense of selling or renting your data to data brokers.
We use Google AdSense (and Google Analytics when you accept cookies) to keep tools free. Those services may process identifiers (such as cookie IDs or IP address) under their own terms when you consent via our cookie banner. Under some interpretations of California law, that advertising activity can be treated as a “sale” or “share.”
To opt out of personalized advertising and analytics cookies on PdfPeaks:
- Choose Reject on our cookie consent banner (or clear site data and reject when the banner returns), or
- Use browser controls / Google’s ad settings, or
- Contact us via the Contact page with the subject “Do Not Sell or Share” and we will honor a verified request.

2. Categories of Personal Information
Depending on how you use PdfPeaks, we may collect:
- Identifiers — name and email if you create an account or contact us; IP address and device/browser data
- Internet / network activity — pages visited, approximate usage metrics (analytics when consented)
- Commercial information — optional donation or support interactions if you choose them
- User content — files you upload for processing (temporary; deleted per our retention schedule) and messages you send via Contact
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. Do not upload documents you are not authorized to process.
3. Business Purposes
We use personal information to:
- Provide PDF and image tools and related support
- Operate accounts you choose to create
- Secure the service and prevent abuse
- Measure and improve the site (with consent where required)
- Show advertising via Google AdSense (with consent where required) so tools can remain free
- Comply with law
4. Your California Rights
Subject to verification and legal exceptions, California residents may request to:
- Know / access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collected
- Delete personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Opt out of sale or sharing of personal information (see section 1)
- Limit use of sensitive personal information, where applicable
- Non-discrimination for exercising CCPA/CPRA rights

5. Retention
Uploaded files are processed temporarily and deleted according to the schedule in our Privacy Policy. Account and contact records are kept while needed to provide the service or as required by law.
