Editorial Policy
How PdfPeaks guides are written, checked, corrected, and kept honest.
Who writes the guides
Every guide on PdfPeaks is written in-house by the small independent team that builds and maintains the tools. We are based in Pakistan and publish in English, with separate guides for Pakistani document formats such as CNIC photos, salary slips, and Urdu/Hindi translation.
We do not invent named authors or reviewer profiles. Articles carry the byline “PdfPeaks editorial team” because the work is done by the same team that ships the software, and we would rather say that plainly than attribute it to a persona.
How a guide is checked before it is published
For any article that describes a workflow, the steps are run against the live tool before publishing:
- The steps are the real steps. Menu names, file limits, output formats and button labels in the guide match what the tool actually shows. If a limit changes, the guide is updated.
- Outputs are inspected, not assumed. A conversion guide states what the output file contains, because we opened the output and checked, including what goes wrong with scanned or malformed input.
- Limits and caveats are stated. Where a tool cannot do something — encrypted PDFs, photographed handwriting, handwritten tables — the article says so instead of implying that everything works.
- No invented test results. We do not publish fabricated benchmarks, made-up statistics, or pretend user counts.
Where AI is used, and where it is not
Some draft text is prepared with AI assistance and then edited and fact-checked by the team against the live tool. Anything that describes how a feature behaves is verified by running it. Articles are not published straight from a model without that check.
This is separate from the AI features inside the product, such as PDF summarisation and translation. Those are documented on the tool pages themselves, including where text is processed on our servers and where an external translation service may be used. See the AI tools section of the privacy policy for the data-handling detail.
Corrections and updates
If a guide is wrong, we want to know. Report an error through the contact form and include the page address and the sentence that is incorrect. We investigate, correct the page, and update its modified date. Substantive corrections are described in the article rather than silently edited away.
Tool pages are reviewed whenever the underlying tool changes — a new limit, a changed output format, or a removed feature. Guides that depend on a removed capability are updated or retired, and retired articles redirect to the closest remaining page rather than returning an error.
Independence and funding
PdfPeaks is free to use and funded by optional donations and advertising. No advertiser, partner or tool vendor pays for a recommendation, a ranking, or a favourable review. When we mention another product — Adobe Acrobat, CamScanner, a government portal — it is because the comparison is useful to the reader, not because of a commercial arrangement.
Tool recommendations inside guides are limited to tools that exist on PdfPeaks at the time of writing, so the steps in the article can actually be followed.
What we will not publish
- Instructions for bypassing passwords or access controls on files the reader does not own.
- Guides that promise certified legal, medical, or immigration translation from a machine translation tool.
- Pages created only to repeat a keyword, with the same advice reworded across several URLs. Where two guides covered the same task, we merge them and redirect the older address.
Contact the team
Questions about a guide, a correction, or a claim on this site go to the contact page. We aim to reply within one to two business days.
